As an Arts College we will:
- Develop an “events” space that will be a venue for exhibitions to stimulate creativity across the curriculum through performance workshops and master classes. It will also be used to target underachievers. The money for this will come from the £150,000 Capital Fund.
- Build new changing rooms and audience area for the dance, music and drama areas.
- Develop community arts partnerships with the Meadow Special School, local Primary Schools and the community in general.
- Raise levels across the curriculum and Key Stages via the Primary Arts Coordinator, The Public and Coneygre Arts to provide Artists in Residence. Local business will also be involved. This strategy will enable pupils to develop research and analytical skills as well as attributes of self-confidence.
- Develop a new school web site allowing access to the curriculum “on line” to encourage more independent learning and community access.
- Through music highlight the differing cultural experiences in our community and encourage pupils to express themselves and develop higher levels of understanding of other cultures.
- Develop a Youth Dance Scheme as a pilot for the LEA
- Continue to develop “Dance for Life” project aimed at “hard to reach” youngsters.
- Raise levels of participation and achievement amongst boys within the dance curriculum.
