Community Outline Year 1 Primary Partners

PRIMARY PARTNERS – Burnt Tree, Grace Mary, Oakham, Tividale Hall, Tividale Community

a) Teachers from 3 schools acquire the skills to promote and implement creative and inclusive music delivery across their school as a result of structured CPD activity.

  • At least 1 teacher in each participating primary engaged in CPD activities.
  • Participating teachers from each school re-write at least one scheme of work within the music curriculum as a response to the CPD and Sage visits.
  • Participating teachers from each school are delivering their revised curriculum one term after the CPD programme concludes.
  • Participating teachers disseminate information to the rest of the schools teaching staff within ½ a term of CPD’s completion.
  • Evidence of whole school change led by participating teachers as a result of CPD activity, based on evaluative dialogue with teachers during and after the CPD activity.
  • Qualitative data indicates increased teacher confidence in the creative teaching of music (dialogue with and/or questionnaires to teachers pre and post implementation).

b) Teachers from 2 primaries have an increased understanding of contemporary art and have acquired the skills to deliver art in a cross-curricular, cross-cultural context.

  • Staff gain new understanding about the ways in which work from other cultures can enhance subject delivery across the curriculum (based on documented dialogue with artist during and after project)
  • Teachers gain new skills and understanding with which to deliver the Art and design National Curriculum, KS1 4c,5b, 5d and KS2 3b, 4c, 5b, 5d. This is evidenced through re-writing of elements of the art curriculum delivery plan.
  • Pupils are able to demonstrate new practical skills in art as a result of their interaction with a practising artist. (based on teacher assessment and documented pupil dialogue with artists)
Teachers have increased knowledge about how professional artists work. (based on documented dialogue between teachers and business link artist after project)
