I am Black and You’re White

I am black and you are white,

It’s time for us to all unite.

We need to stand up tall and take no more,

There’s no need for us to fuss and fight!

Parent, Grandparent, children are crying,

While others are out there dying.

Racism is a thing we need to stop, and stop now!

It is like a balloon waiting to pop!

What has happened to saying forgive and forget?

No one wants to do that, not just yet.

The only difference between me and you,

Are our personality and our colour.

So what do you say, let’s make amends!

Then we could be such good friends.

I’m black and you are white,

It’s time for us all to unite,

So many people have tried to fight,

This thing called racism we need to say goodbye!

Take Malcolm X, he was the best,

He tried to end everyone’s stress.

Why is the world such a mess?

God made me and God made you,

What do you think we should do?

I think that it’s time to start a new!

You’re white and I am black,

If only Marcus Garvey could come back,

He would be like Malcolm X, one of the best.

He fought for freedom of all black slaves,

Walking down the street with shackles and chains,

Feeling no happiness, only pain,

With all this strain on their brain,

It was driving them insane!

God only knows how they coped,

Being whipped from head to toe.

You are white and I am black,

I know these are racism facts.

But they need to stay in the past!

I’m sick of all this black and white.

So why don’t we call it a day and unite!
