Discipline and Rewards

At Tividale we aim to ensure that every pupil achieves their true potential. In order to do this students are encouraged through praise and rewards for both achievement and behaviour.

Outstanding achievement is recognized through a series of Presentation and Celebration Evenings held at various times throughout the year.

There are times however where students fail to co-operate with the expectations of the school and at these times students will need to consider their actions. We have a simple set of rules which all students are expected to conform to. Failure to do so leads to a variety of sanctions as follows:

The student is removed from the class and is moved into another class where they complete a Think Sheet. A letter is sent home to parents and the student is placed on report for 3 lessons.

In the event of an unsatisfactory report after three lessons the student is removed from the class and placed in another class for three lessons and monitored there.

In the event of continued poor behaviour the student is referred.

There are a series of detentions varying from 20 minutes to 1 hour for a variety misdemeanors.

We will not tolerate any forms of bullying, racism, vandalism or prejudice of any kind.
